This pair of small vintage stoneware crocks have a rich, dark brown Albany-style glaze with a high-gloss finish. They have a classic rimmed top, and they each have a pair of holes opposite each other near the top. These would make great vessels for pens and pencils, makeup brushes, toothbrushes, etc. Or, add wire or a cord through the holes, and they can be used as small hanging planters.
The unglazed bottoms show hand-turned concentric rings and handwritten markings, suggesting an artisanal or small-batch production. Their minimalist silhouette and deep earthy tones make them really versatile pieces.
These are in excellent vintage condition with no cracks or repairs. They measure approximately 4" high and 3-1/2" in diameter.
